New Outfit for Emily

Well, here is my first attempt at an outfit for Emily. I was trying to get in done for her birthday on the 17th, but that didn't exactly happen. Poor girl, she already knows that I truly do have the best of intentions without always getting everything done that I plan!

I was inspired by some of the BEAUTIFUL Amy Butler fabric that I purcashed from Glenna at Your Fabric Place.

Then, I decided to get really fancy and embroider/applique her a tee to match the skirt. The design came from Lynnie Pinnie. How cute did that turn out?!!

I must admit, I was quite pleased with how well it looks on her. I can't wait for the first day of school!!

I have always enjoying sewing as a hobby and making things for friends and family. Recently, a friend and I decided to turn our hobby into something a little more (well okay, truth be told, she has been sewing for others for a couple of years now). Right before Mother's Day, I decided that I just HAD to have a new embroidery machine and a serger. My husband was soooo mad at me!! He told me that I better use them (I already had a very nice sewing/embroidery machine that didn't get enough use). I decided to make the most of it and I have been hooked since then! A friend asked me to make some things as teachers gifts and Liberty Original was born (thanks Brandi!).

I get so excited when I finish a project! I truly feel honored when someone asks ME to make an original for them.

Well, here I go!! I am officially entering the blog world. I have been pining away for hours over many blogs over the past weeks and decided it time to give it a go. I am anxious to take pics of my sewing endeavors to post them here. It is a work in progress....
