Sweetheart Dress with Art Gallery Fabric

I finally finished the double ruffle on the bottom!! Emily tried it on and she loves it... whew. This cute little pattern came from Mindy at Froglegs and Ponytails. She has so many cute patterns to choose from. This one came together so quickly and easy that I am definitely going to purchase another pattern style. I finished the bottom of the dress with a double rolled hem ruffle instead of the bias binding. This pattern is very versatile as you can pair it with a long sleeved shirt and a pair of pants or jeans in the winter for year round wearability!!

I used the Girly Girl line from Art Gallery Fabric. I used Reflections, for the main dress and Bubblegum Lollipops and Berry Whispers for the double rolled hem ruffle at the bottom.

My next personal project will include making a pair of pants to coordinate with this dress and also a matching buttercup bag. Every girl needs their own buttercup bag!!
I am going to take requests to make this sweet little jumper. Head on over to my fabric choices on flickr to pick out your favs. I need one for the main dress, one for the ties and bottom ruffle, and one for the smaller ruffle. If you prefer the bias binding instead of the ruffle, the dress is reversible!! Pick out 2 for the main dress and 1 for the ties/bottom binding. The price for this cute little jumper is $29.95 to $39.95 depending on fabric choice and size. Sizes available are 12-24 mo, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Emily is wearing size 6 or 7 in regular clothes. With the addition of the double ruffle (adds a wee bit of length), the dress hit her at the top of her knees.
As always, I do not have all of my fabrics posted. If there is something you are interested in, please contact me as I can usually get what you are looking for!

Not A Baby Anymore

My baby is going to be 1 in less than one hour!!!! Where did the time go? For those of you who know me, see how far I've come?! Little Finley was such a surprise that I was in complete shock for a good 5 months of my pregnancy. I cannot imagine my life without him though. What a gift from God he is!

I just finished his "I'm 1!" outfit and I can't wait to see it on him. I thought I would post a few pics of it before he wears it. He definitely has a knack of staining brand new outfits!
I used Amy Butler fabric (well, of course, duh). I drew the large #1 on the shirt and used chipboard letters as a template for the jeans. This fabric in this outfit matches the t-shirt dress that I made for Emily!
Happy Birthday, Finley!! I love you, baby

Busy, Busy, Busy

These cute appliqued onesies are baby gifts for two of my mom's friends. I hope they like them! I have wanted to try my hand at making pacifier clips. So, I made matching clips for these onesies as a little something extra for the moms-to-be. Covered buttons are so much fun to work with!! If you like the "A" design, click here or if you like the "B" design, click here to take a looksie where I purchased them.

I made my sister a coffee cozy out of suede sherpa!! I am super excited about this! I am going to make them for everyone I know... it was super easy to do and it's super cute to boot.

For those of you still waiting on your Liberty Original, I am working feverishly to get everything finished. I promise that the wait will be worth it. :) Thank you all so much!

GIRLY GIRL GIVEAWAY

Here is a wonderful giveaway!! This fabric is absolutely beautiful!! I am trying to decide which patterns to purchase and put in my etsy store. I stumbled upon Art Gallery Fabrics and fell in love with this Girly Girl collection!! I have not actually seen it in person, but I am in love like the first time I saw Amy Butler fabrics!! So, if you have any favorites, PLEASE let me know. I am new to the world of possibly selling fabric. I am only going to purchase a minimal number of fabric selections until I see how it goes. My desire is still to have Liberty Original as a mainly sewing and monogramming business with a dabble in this fabric line. I can't wait to sew some beautiful things!!

Liberty Handbag

liberty original, liberty handbag
So, I have been a wee bit under the weather, but hopefully all that is behind me now! I am introducing my latest original... The Liberty! Clever name, eh?
This is my first design that doesn't involve mainly rectangles and squares. I have carried it for a week now and I am liking it. It does need to be a tish bigger and I am looking forward to making it in different fabrics. I used whatever I could find close to me in the sewing room for my "prototype."

I didn't get fancy this time around, but next time I will definitely add a pocket and shorten the straps a bit. The magnetic closure is definitely working for me though. Fabric suggestions for the next prototype are gladly accepted!

GREEN SWAP

Brandy, over at Sew Cute Shop hosted her first annual Green Swap. I had never participated in one of these before and decided that it would be fun! My swap partner was Lannae Johnson, of Lannae Johnson Designs. What a talented woman!! I am already getting ideas for Christmas presents... she designs and makes the most beautiful jewelry.

I can't even begin to describe my excitement when I saw this package sitting by my front door! I felt like a 5 year old on Christmas morning!

I very carefully opened my box and tenderly took out each item, making giddy little school girl sounds all the while. My daughter kept asking what was wrong with me! I love, love, love each item that Lannae sent. My favorites are the beeswax candle and the earrings that she designed and made!

This picture does not do them justice at all. They are absolutely stunning! They are definitely a staple in my wardrobe for years to come. Thank you sooo much Lannae! I will get my order in soon! :))

Thanks to Brandy as well for organizing this swap. Her etsy shop is full of wonderful things, many of them made from Amy Butler fabric! You know how much I love AB fabric, people!

Have a save Labor Day and enjoy your family.
